Bahrain and Romania have deposited their instruments of approval or ratification for the Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (Multilateral Instrument or MLI) with the OECD. The MLI will enter into force for both countries on 1 June 2022. The OECD notes that, as at 1 February 2022, over 880 existing treaties between the 70 signatory jurisdictions had already been modified by the MLI.
