I have been a fan of the PwC accounting manuals since I first bought a copy some seven or eight years ago. Certainly the 2004 UK GAAP volume currently sat on my bookshelf is very well-thumbed. The 2005 manual appears to be slightly thinner than last year's yet still weighs in at some 3 000 pages. A key feature of any text book is a good index and here PwC excels with the 2005 index exceeding 100 pages slightly longer than for 2004 and more than twice as long as those in the equivalent tomes from some of the other Big 4 accountancy firms that also...
