In his eleventh Budget the Chancellor of the Exchequer said he wanted 'long-term investment and environmentally sustainable growth … now and in the future' to promote Britain's success in the global economy. This year's Budget certainly had a greener hue than many that preceded it and in the 80 Budget Notes issued to explain the Budget changes no fewer than a quarter of them contained measures related to the environment. Having now been through the recently published Finance Bill there appears nothing new simply further detail about the Budget announcement.
 
So let us look at the Government's announcements to see if they matched up to...
