Budget: Ticking enough of the right boxes

The big increase in the personal allowance and the clampdown on avoidance keep the Coalition together, says David Smith.

So was it a Budget to transform the economy or merely one to hold the Coalition together? Was it as the Chancellor claimed an unashamedly pro-business Budget? The answer to all three questions is probably maybe but you do not have to stretch too far to judge that George Osborne achieved a little bit of all three aims.
