Business leaders welcome CGT changes

These changes, he said, ‘will draw investment towards start-ups and fast-growing companies’.

While the cut to the rate of corporation tax was regarded by half of those surveyed as ‘the right priority’, a minority would like to have seen other reforms. ‘Cutting corporation tax has the great benefit of helping all companies,’ said Stephen Herring. However, he asked the government to consider at future Budgets ‘whether reliefs targeted at entrepreneurial companies could bring more bang for the taxpayers’ buck’.
