Comment: Corporate and business taxes under the Coalition

The outcome of the May 2010 Election produced an unexpected result; the betting would have been on a Conservative victory (although perhaps only as a minority Government) with a LibLab coalition as second favourite.

Instead after an outcome in terms of seat distribution which could have been chosen by Torquemada specifically to torture the leaders of the political parties we have a ConLib coalition.

Unexpected results

This has produced an equally unexpected result in the tax arena certainly so far as tax on individuals is concerned in that the policies announced to date on income tax allowances and CGT seem to derive far more from the LibDem manifesto than the Conservative one.
