Jersey has recently welcomed two important pieces of legislation amending its Companies (Jersey) Law 1991 (the Companies Law). The Companies (Amendment No 2) (Jersey) Regulations 2008 (the Regulations) came into force on 22 January 2008 and the Companies (Amendment No 9) (Jersey) Law (the Law) is currently with the Privy Council for approval due in force in the second quarter of 2008.
 
The focus of the amendments is on simplicity and flexibility and will help to further enhance the appeal of Jersey as a jurisdiction for establishing a company for all purposes but particularly for investment funds structures.
