Only those transactions with an effective date after implementation will be eligible for the relief. The new threshold is expected to result in an estimated 80% of first-time buyers in Scotland receiving full relief from LBTT.
First time buyer's relief was first announced in the draft 2018/19 Scottish Budget in December 2017.
