Updated guidance:

  • Transit newsletters — HMRC updates. The January 2025 update ‘NCTS Phase 5: multiple house consignments’ confirms implementation on 21 January 2025 by all national administrators that are members of the Common Transit Convention of the final version of New Computerised Transit System Phase 5 (NCTS5). New functionality is introduced from 21 January for multiple house consignments (and this is covered in HMRC’s January update). The European Commission has also updated its guidance on NCTS with a note to acknowledge full implementation of NCTS5.
  • Notices under The Customs Transit Procedures (EU Exit) Regulations 2018: updated to reflect changes as a result of the implementation of NCTS5.
  • Notices made under the Taxation (Cross-border Trade) Act 2018: guidance on the form and content of customs declarations has been updated generally.
