This table summarises the standard rates of VAT currently in force in each Member State as well as other useful information such as their VAT registration distance selling and Intrastat thresholds.
After a number of rate rises across the EU in 2010 the early months of 2011 were much quieter with only minor changes to the information on the table.
On 17 September 2011 however Italy raised its standard rate of VAT from 20% to 21% and continuing austerity measures look likely to bring more standard rate rises elsewhere before 2011 draws to a close.
