The European Union (Future Relationship) Act 2020 conveys powers on UK government ministers and devolved authorities to make regulations to implement the EU/UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA) and other associated agreements into UK law.
In terms of its impact on UK domestic law, the Act provides a framework through which the agreement will be implemented by regulations in due course, rather than implementing the agreement directly with immediate effect. Until regulations are introduced, the Act also provides for general implementation, with domestic legislation having effect with any modifications required to implement the agreement.
