The House of Lords will scrutinise Finance Bill 2022 on 22 February 2022. As there is no power for the Lords to amend a money bill, the Lords stages are a formality and the final stage before Royal Assent is given to the Act.
The House of Lords version of the Finance Bill (the ‘Lords Bill’) has been published and includes all amendments made to the Bill during its passage through the Parliamentary process. Notable changes include the addition of clause 67 Sch 10 (public interest business protection tax) and clause 95 Sch 16 (freeport tax site reliefs: provision about regulations). The Bill has been renumbered as required to accommodate these new provisions.
