The Public Bill Committee completed its consideration of the Finance Bill on 9 June:

  • Clauses 73 to 78, and 80 to 91 (provisions relating to VAT, climate change levy, aggregates levy, stamp duty land tax, stamp duty reserve tax, administration etc and miscellanous provisions) were agreed without amendment.
  • Schs 20 to 26 (supplies of commodities to be used in producing electricity, prevention of SDLT avoidance, transfers involving multiple dwellings, data-gathering powers, amendments of FA 2008 Sch 36, mutual assistance for recovery of taxes etc and redundant reliefs) were agreed without amendment.
  • Clause 79 (power to suspend exemption for transport supplies) was withdrawn.

A new clause relating to foreign pensions of UK residents was added to the Bill.

The Bill has now completed its committee stage and is awaiting its report stage in the House of Commons.
