The Bill was presented to the House of Commons and completed its first reading on Tuesday. The date for the second reading has not yet been announced.
The Bill is called the Finance (No. 3) Bill because it is the third Bill published in the current parliamentary session. It will legislate measures announced in last week’s Budget and in the June 2010 Budget.
Draft legislation for 50 of the Bill’s clauses was published for consultation last December and over 250 substantive responses were received and considered, the Treasury said.
