Finance (No. 2) Bill 2017 committee stage

The second Finance Bill 2017 passed its second reading on Tuesday 12 September. A committee of the whole House will consider the following clauses on Wednesday 11 October:

·         Clause 5 (termination payments etc: amounts chargeable on employment income);

The second Finance Bill 2017 passed its second reading on Tuesday 12 September. A committee of the whole House will consider the following clauses on Wednesday 11 October:

·         Clause 5 (termination payments etc: amounts chargeable on employment income);

·         Clause 15 (business investment relief); and

·         Clause 25 (trading profits taxable at the Northern Ireland rate).

The remainder of the Bill will go on to be considered by a Public Bill Committee, which is expected to begin on Tuesday 17 October and conclude no later than Thursday 26 October. The Public Bill Committee has confirmed that it is now able to receive written evidence on the second Bill. The Committee will stop receiving written evidence at the end of the Committee stage (Thursday 26 October).
