John Andrews, founder of LITRG, received the Lifetime Achievement award. The CIOT noted that he set up LITRG in his 'retirement' and had built it into ‘a real force for good on behalf of the ordinary taxpayer’.
Anthony Thomas, who was CIOT President until earlier this month and is LITRG’s incoming Chairman, received the Tax Personality of the Year award, and Kelly Sizer of LITRG's technical team won the Rising Star award.
LITRG also received the Technological Innovation award for revenuebenefits.org.uk, a website managed in partnership with rightsnet that offers access to information on HMRC 'products' including tax credits and child benefit.
The Tax Writer of the Year award went to John Endacott, Tax Partner at Francis Clark. The other winners were:
