As announced at Spring Statement 2022, the Excise Duties (Surcharges or Rebates) (Hydrocarbon Oils etc) Order, SI 2022/365, cuts fuel duty for a period of 12 months, in response to record increases in the price of oil and the consequent increase in the cost of motor fuel for individuals and businesses.
Rates for unleaded petrol, diesel, biodiesel and bioethanol are cut by 5p per litre with effect from 6pm on 23 March 2022.
