HMRC is consulting on draft Alcohol Products (Excise Duty) Regulations 2023, which will set out the first phase of the new, single excise duty system for alcoholic products from 1 August 2023. When fully implemented, the new system will replace the various existing systems of excise duty for different products.
Draft primary legislation (expected to be included in the Spring 2023 Finance Bill) was published alongside explanatory notes, on 23 September 2022.
