The Government supports the work of the OECD's task force on tax and development which is examining the issue of country-by-country reporting, business minister Edward Davey said in a Commons written answer.
‘While this work is in progress we remain of the view that voluntary initiatives are effective tools,’ he said.
He also noted that the European Commission was consulting on financial reporting on a country-by-country basis by multinational companies.
