HMRC is seeking stakeholders’ help in its ‘drive for greater transparency’.
HMRC is seeking stakeholders’ help in its ‘drive for greater transparency’. On the day it published, along with other government departments, details of its spending over £25,000 in the period May to September 2010, it requested comments on the information strategy set out in its Business Plan for 2011-15.
Comments are invited by 31 January on whether HMRC has selected the right basket of ‘input and impact’ indicators and measures, and explained their meaning clearly; and whether it could provide additional data, or data broken down in a different way.
Journalists at The Guardian, who have had access to the spending data for more than a week, have provided an analysis on the paper’s Data Blog.
That analysis indicates that in the five month period, HMRC reported expenditure of £578 million, including £308 million relating to information management solutions and £171 million on estates and support services.
More details of the consultation are provided on the HMRC website.
