The Individual Savings Account (Amendment No 3) Regulations, SI 2016/977, allow certain debentures, debt securities and bonds issued as transferable securities by companies or charities, including those offered via crowdfunding platforms, to be eligible investments for the innovative finance ISA with effect from 1 November 2016. The government announced its decision in November 2015 to legislate for this change, following consultation, and published a draft version of the regulations for comment during August and September 2016.
