International: Information exchange
The launch of a peer review covering 18 jurisdictions has taken international initiatives to counter cross-border tax evasion into a new phase the OECD declared. The first group of jurisdictions to be reviewed comprises Australia Barbados Bermuda Botswana Canada Cayman Islands Denmark Germany India Ireland Jamaica Jersey Mauritius Monaco Norway Panama Qatar and Trinidad & Tobago. The review process intended to identify jurisdictions that are not implementing the OECD standard on information exchange was approved by the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information after last year's Pittsburgh Summit of G20 leaders. The review reports will be published once they have been adopted by the Global Forum which will meet at the end of September.
