‘An era of unprecedented international cooperation on tax matters is now underway’, proclaim the IMF, OECD, UN and World Bank Group, which have announced details of their new ‘platform for collaboration on tax’. See www.bit.ly/1VAIPnI. This platform aims to provide developing countries with advice and tools to implement the G20/OECD BEPS measures. One of the main tasks will be to deliver eight ‘toolkits’. The first of these, focusing on tax incentives, was delivered in November 2015. The remaining seven will be delivered between now and March 2018. The next steps will include extending work on exchange of information to ensure that more countries join the OECD Global Forum and sign the Multilateral Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters.
