The government has laid regulations setting out the annual increases to individual savings account and child trust fund subscription limits.

  • The Individual Savings Account (Amendment) Regulations, SI 2017/186, increase the overall ISA annual subscription limit to £20,000, and the junior ISA subscription limit to £4,128, from 6 April 2017. Minor updates are made to the ISA and junior ISA rules to reflect changes to other legislation.
  • The Child Trust Funds (Amendment) Regulations 2017, SI 2017/185, increase the annual child trust fund subscription limit to £4,128 from 6 April 2018, and remove the requirement for account providers to apply a ‘lifestyling’ investment strategy for stakeholder child trust funds.
