Earlier this year John Andrews received the OBE in recognition of his work for the Low Incomes Tax Reform Group. Daron Gunson of the Parmentier Arthur Group finds out more about him and the LITRG
 
John Andrews has spent his entire career in taxation and the seeds of the LITRG were sown during his years in the profession — which culminated in his becoming President of the Chartered Institute of Taxation for 1997–98.
 
John started his career by joining the Inland Revenue in Bromley in the early 1960s. He spent three enjoyable years with the Revenue before deciding to join the accountancy profession. He went to the West End office of Shipley Blackburn where he dealt with a fascinating portfolio of personal tax clients including some well-known entertainers.
