There seemed to be something of an appeal from Dave Hartnett Director General of HMRC underneath remarks he was making at a recent symposium to please give the tax authorities a bit of time and space to carry through reforms. If I recall his words correctly Dave was suggesting that 'we improve together or we don't improve at all' the 'we' in this instance being tax advisers and tax authorities.
