The National Minimum Wage (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, SI 2016/953, increase the principal hourly rate of the national minimum wage from £6.70 to £6.95 from 1 October 2016. The hourly rate for workers aged 18 to 21 increases to £5.55; for those under 18 it increases to £4.00; and the apprentice rate increases to £3.40. The accommodation offset increases to £6.00 per day.
