What attracted you to the tax profession?
I fell into the career but what I like most now is helping to run a successful tax practice the intellectual challenge of solving problems and lobbying for a better tax system.
Who in tax do you most admire?
John Whiting – he is one of the great communicators and is tackling some sizeable issues via the Office of Tax Simplification.
What’s the most difficult part of your job?
Keeping up to date with the vast range of new initiatives cases and changes but that is also an enjoyable challenge.
What’s the most significant tax case in recent years?
Jones v Garnett was a game-changer for smaller privately held businesses and provided certainty to many families who were concerned about their tax structuring.
