Who in tax do you most admire?
I’ve had the privilege of working with some very astute legal brains during my career although I would have to give a personal answer to this question. When I was a young solicitor cutting my teeth Robert Field and Mike Murphy (the tax partners I worked for at the time) shepherded me through what can be a particularly challenging period. So I think I owe them a lot personally.
What is keeping you busy at work?
A range of work. I’m busy advising one of our real estate clients on the tax aspects of a substantial mixed use scheme; another on a large portfolio deal. At the other end of the spectrum I am advising a high net worth individual on the VAT aspects of refurbishing his home. I like the...
