You recently joined Deloitte. How did you get there?
I started working in VAT in 1983 when I joined HM Customs & Excise. Between 1988 and 2000 I held roles in manufacturing the rail industry financial services and within the profession at Price Waterhouse. During that time I also qualified as a member of the Institute of Tax. However the move to Goldman Sachs in 2000 was a huge step for me. It presented a whole new series of challenges which I had not faced previously in a very high profile and fast moving environment. Taking up the role recently at Deloitte was also a significant change for me as the vast majority of my career has been spent in industry. It will be a challenge to be able to use the VAT and...
