How did you end up in tax?

As a result of the short-term gains tax legislation which was introduced by FA 1962; I was an articled clerk and my principal wanted to know what this new-fangled legislation was all about so I was set to research it.

Who in tax do you most admire?

John Andrews who created the Low Income Tax Reform Group within the CIOT which lobbies HMRC and the government on behalf of those who are bamboozled by the complexities of the tax and benefits system and cannot afford professional advice.

What work is keeping you busy?

I am learning about my new firm MHA MacIntyre Hudson and I am completing the 8th edition of Intellectual Property Law and Taxation and taking the preliminary steps for a 6th edition...
