Personal tax: Pensions tax relief

Plans to restrict tax relief on pension contributions for those earning £150 000 or over from 6 April 2011 have been criticised by business leaders. Quoted in The Times the Institute of Directors urges the Chancellor to reconsider noting that 'this tax would be a problem individually but collectively with capital gains tax rises we feel we are being set upon as a group.' The CBI's Richard Lambert comments that 'it will make it much harder for UK business to attract and retain global talent.'
