The Companies Act 2006 (Amendment of Part 21A) Regulations, SI 2016/136 amend the definitions of ‘registrable person’ and ‘registrable relevant legal entity’ in connection with a company’s register of people with significant control with effect from 5 April 2016. This is to remove an unintended requirement to record information about intermediate companies if there is a company in the legal ownership chain which not a relevant legal entity.
