Revised list of high-risk third countries

printer Mail

The Treasury has updated the table of high-risk third countries in relation to which enhanced due diligence measures apply under the principal anti-money laundering regulations (SI 2017/692). The Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (High-Risk Countries) (Amendment) Regulations, SI 2022/393, add United Arab Emirates and remove Zimbabwe from the list. This is a regular update to mirror the Financial Action Task Force’s lists of countries which have ‘strategic deficiencies’ in their anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing and proliferation financing regimes, and has effect from 29 March 2022.
