David Nickson reports on the recent CCH and CIoT conference 'Running a Corporate Tax Department' held in London on 21 June 2006
Given the many significant changes that have impacted the financial and tax worlds over the last five years and the corresponding pressures on industry-based tax teams to 'deliver more' it was not surprising to find a strong turnout for the recent 'Running a Corporate Tax Department' conference. Jointly organised by CCH and the Commerce and Industry Group of the CIoT participants were treated to a wide number of speakers covering topics as practical as project management and as thought-provoking as what tax functions will look like in 20 years' time. Chris Lallemand (Chairman of the London branch of the CIoT) chaired the conference.
