Six more countries sign BEPS multilateral instrument on tax treaties

Barbados, Côte d’Ivoire, Jamaica, Malaysia, Panama and Tunisia have signed the OECD’s ‘Multilateral convention to implement tax treaty related measures to prevent BEPS’, bringing to 78 the number of signatories.

The Convention will enter into force three months after it has been ratified by five countries. According to the OECD, four jurisdictions have ratified it to date: Austria, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Poland. Legislation to ratify the convention in the UK is contained in Finance Bill 2018.
