The Social Security (Switzerland) Order, SI 2021/1088 makes provision for the modification of UK social security legislation to give effect to the Convention on Social Security Co-ordination agreed between the UK and the Swiss Confederation on 9 September 2021.
As is often the case with international agreements the commencement provisions depend on both parties completing their separate ratification requirements. The Order itself will have effect broadly from whenever the Convention enters into force in both countries, or from the date on which the Convention is ‘provisionally applied’ if earlier.
