The Trade Remedies (Increase in Imports Causing Serious Injury to UK Producers) (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations, SI 2019/1319, provide for the UK to impose safeguard measures against imports of certain steel products, equivalent to those available under EU law, when the new UK tariff rate quotas take effect after Brexit.
The regulations come into force on 31 October 2019, enabling the secretary of state to issue public notices imposing measures with effect from 31 October, before EU trade duties cease to apply in the UK.
