EU referendum

 
On 24 June HMRC published a very short Customs Information Paper 42/2016: EU referendum. This confirms that there will be no immediate change to the movement of goods or people in and out of the UK from the EU. Until article 50 is invoked HMRC will continue to engage with EU business as normal and will take part in EU decision making in the usual way. Once it is invoked HMRC notes that it will remain bound by EU law until the terms of the exit have been determined although HMRC will no longer be involved in decision making.
