Tax statistics published

printer Mail

HMRC published on 30 December figures relating to corporate tax (PRT and government revenues from UK oil and gas production); charities, cost of tax relief; enterprise investment scheme, venture capital trusts and corporate venturing scheme; number of taxpayers and registered traders; and tax expenditures and ready reckoners. The department also published details of HMRC spending.

Statistics were published just before Christmas on the Child Trust Fund; tax credits; tax receipts and taxpayers; and property transactions.

HMRC announced that publication of statistics based on the 2009/10 Survey of Personal Income was being delayed. Figures due to be published in December 2011 and January 2012 would now be published in February and March 2012.

It was not possible, HMRC said, to obtain a full set of data on individuals’ income and tax liabilities in time to process the SPI to the normal timetable. The 2008/09 SPI was "similarly affected" and a revised timetable for that year would be announced.

HMRC also updated details of the recognised commercial software compatible with its corporation tax online service.
