The Budget brought with it the Government's eagerly anticipated second discussion paper on UK Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs). Whilst the paper confirmed the Government's commitment to delivering a vehicle that is flexible enough to meet the needs of investors by 2006 there are still several hurdles which need to be cleared before the REIT becomes reality in the UK.
