VAT registration: change in timelines

HMRC have updated the following two VAT notices to extend the time limit to 40 working days in which taxpayers can expect to receive a reply from HMRC:

• Cancelling your VAT registration (VAT Notice 700/11): previously quoted 30 days;
• Group and divisional registration (VAT Notice 700/2): previously quoted 15 days.
