More than 130 MPs signed an early day motion calling on the Government to conduct a 'full consultation and review' of the proposed abolition of tax relief for furnished holiday lettings. The Government acknowledges that the change 'has not been welcomed' by the tourism industry Stephen Timms Financial Secretary to the Treasury said in a Commons written answer. 'However for legal reasons a change is necessary.'
