Creative industries team will accept claims from 1 April
HMRC is expanding its film tax unit to cover the new creative industry tax reliefs announced at Budget 2012. The draft Finance Bill includes new corporation tax reliefs for the animation, high end television and video games industries from 1 April 2013, subject to state aid approval.
HMRC’s creative industries team, based in Manchester, will accept claims from 1 April, and has invited companies in the sector to send any queries about the forthcoming reliefs via the HMRC website.
