The Queen has approved the appointments of Stephen Banyard, a trained tax inspector and HMRC’s Acting Director General for Personal Tax, and Simon Bowles, HMRC’s Chief Finance Officer, as Commissioners for HM Revenue and Customs. Sir Gus O'Donnell, the Cabinet Secretary, announced the appointments at the Public Accounts Committee hearing on 7 November.
