Nicholas Macpherson served as the Permanent Secretary to HM Treasury from 2005 to 2016. He was nominated for a cross-bench peerage in David Cameron’s resignation honours, and joined the House of Lords, as Lord Macpherson of Earl’s Court, in October 2016.
