Anyone who has been handling HMRC enquiries for some time either corporate or personal will no doubt be aware that the approach taken by HMRC for selecting cases is based upon risk. At this time when the final flurry of 2005 SA returns are in the process of being submitted to HMRC it may be worth taking a look at what amounts to a 'risk' in the eyes of HMRC and the type of enquiries which might be raised to challenge those risks.
