HMRC has updated its job retention scheme guidance to confirm that employees can be furloughed where they are unable to work (including working from home), or working reduced hours, due to caring responsibilities resulting from coronavirus. Caring responsibilities include caring for children who are at home as a result of school or childcare facilities closing and for a vulnerable individual in the individual’s household.
