The government has set out in draft amending regulations the new minimum wage rates that will apply from 1 April 2019.
The principal hourly rate of the national minimum wage will increase from £7.38 to £7.70. The hourly rate for workers aged 18-21 increases to £6.15; for those under 18 it increases to £4.35; and the apprentice rate increases to £3.90. The accommodation offset increases to £7.55 per day.
