The Home Office has published new guidance on the information sharing measures in the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023. The guidance is aimed at regulated businesses under the Anti-Money Laundering Regulations ‘to provide greater clarity and comfort to regulated firms to share relevant customer information either directly or indirectly through a third-party intermediary’ and summarises the key provisions which disapply civil liability where information is shared for the purposes of detecting and preventing economic crime (a key concern for regulated firms).
